The Amherst Dance Academy Dance Team is a group of dedicated dancers who take their skills to the next level through performance, teamwork, and competition. Our team members not only grow as dancers but also as individuals, learning responsibility, commitment, and confidence along the way. Whether you're just getting started or have years of experience, there's a place for you on our team!
Beginning Team
Our Beginning Team is perfect for dancers who are new to competitive dance. Dancers focus on building a strong foundation in technique, rhythm, and stage presence while experiencing the excitement of their first performances. This team is a supportive environment where dancers grow their confidence and discover their love for dance.
Intermediate Team
The Intermediate Team is designed for dancers with some performance or competition experience who are ready to sharpen their skills. Team members work on more complex choreography, enhance their technique, and learn to perform with expression and precision. This level encourages both individual progress and strong team collaboration.
Advanced Team
The Advanced Team is for committed dancers who are passionate about taking their performance to a higher level. These dancers train intensively, compete at regional events, and often assist with choreography and leadership within the academy. The Advanced Team represents the highest level of artistry, athleticism, and dedication at ADA.

Inside the ADA Team Experience
Being on the Amherst Dance Academy Team starts with auditions, where dancers are placed in the team level that’s the best fit for their skills. (Auditions typically involve learning short combinations, showing technique, and demonstrating performance quality.) Once placed, team members attend practice twice a week to learn exciting new choreography for a variety of performances.
Throughout the season, the team dances at local festivals such as the Sorghum Festival and the Busch Gardens Dance Festival, as well as our own showcases. At recital, dancers perform both their class dances and special level combination numbers, showing off all they’ve worked hard to achieve.
